“Many of these companies, which collectively generated $303.6 billion in revenue in 2014, continue to thrive in an IT industry that’s undergoing massive changes fueled by cloud, mobility and big data technologies.” written by Rick Whiting on June 8, 2015, 10:55 am EDT in a CRN article.
Today agents need to change their future strategy and become solution providers or sell their customer base and move on to other ventures such as retirement, travel, or another appealing opportunities. The technology world of yesterday is changing because the industry being fueled by new changes in cloud, mobility and big data technologies is exploding by providing new solutions to dated issues.
IDC, a reputable global research firm is forecasting that worldwide IT and telecommunications spending this year will grow 3.8 percent to $3.8 trillion. “Not only that, but the field is expected to continue to grow over the next few years, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasting a 37 percent increase in Information Security Analyst positions alone between 2012 and 2022.” Major changes must take place in the agent community in the future. Those agents who think they will be able to sit back and enjoy the fruits of the past labor without adding new logos to their customer bases and providing them with solutions to their concerns will quickly dissolve. If agents are not on the top of their game being solution providers, updating their knowledge, educating their customer base and providing simple solutions to their customer base they should consider moving on to other ventures.
