Just when you think you’ve secured a reliable, long-term partnership with a knowledgeable telecom agent to guide your critical business decisions, they vanish. This practice, which I call "Customer Dumping," is more common than you might think.
Here’s how it works: An agent convinces you to switch all your existing services, allowing them to earn commissions on the changes. Once your deal is finalized, they sell it directly to the agency they work with, collecting all their commissionable dollars upfront. With their commission secured, the agent moves on to the next victim, leaving you to deal with any future issues on your own. You’re stuck navigating vendor problems without any support from the agent or their agency, as their involvement ceases the moment they receive their payout.
While many agents are ethical and responsible, even the best can become overwhelmed. As agents grow successful, they often find themselves maxed out with clients, leaving little time to prospect for new business or take a vacation. The temptation to "dump" customers for a quick payout can be too great to resist.
This troubling trend isn't limited to telecom agents. Even newly hired CIOs sometimes engage in similar behavior, making massive, often unnecessary changes before quitting or getting fired, all while continuing to collect residual payments as they move from company to company.
At DP Access, this will never happen. We respect your knowledge and experience, allowing you to manage what you can while we step in only when requested. We’re here for the long haul—no customer dumping. Plus, we offer an ethical residual program that lets you decide how your residuals are allocated. Learn more at www.dpaccess.com.
